The former Teamworks Camps payment processor, Braintree Marketplace is being sunset by its parent company, PayPal. As a result, all current Camps customers will need to move to PayPal’s core payment processing platform, which includes Hyperwallet, a PayPal product that facilitates payouts. This change creates an enhanced payment experience, with even more flexibility for payouts and refunds.
With this update to the payment processing platforms, we want to highlight key changes.
Why was this change made?
- The former Teamworks Camps payment processor, Braintree Marketplace is being sunset by its parent company, PayPal. As a result, we needed to update the Teamworks Camps product to use Paypal’s core payment processing platform. Due to this change, all current Camps customers will need to move to PayPal’s core payment processing platform, which includes Hyperwallet, a PayPal product that facilitates payouts. This change creates an enhanced payment experience, with even more flexibility for payouts and refunds.
How do I complete my onboarding?
- You can learn more about how to complete your onboarding here. If you have additional questions or are running into any challenges trying to complete the process, we also have a troubleshooting guide available here.
I currently use the Escrow feature. Can I continue to keep funds in Escrow on the new payment processing platform?
- Yes, you can continue to keep funds in Escrow. The important change as part of this transition is that before you can be moved over to the new payment processor, all of your funds currently in Braintree’s Escrow function must be released so that we can close out the old account and start processing payments on the new platform. Once you’ve been onboarded onto the new platform, you can continue to use the Escrow function and manage when you payout funds.
Are there any changes to how the Escrow function works?
-
When escrow is enabled, all proceeds from your business will continue to be temporarily stored in a holding account and you can decide when you would like to release the funds to your bank account. With this update, you can easily release funds at the product level, allowing you to easily payout a single event.
Funds can be released by going to the Manage Escrow screen or by selecting the Release Funds button on the product page. You can learn more about how to release funds from escrow here. Please reach out to support@teamworks.com if you would like to enable the Escrow function.
Is there a different process for refunds now?
- If you use the Escrow function and have funds in escrow, refunds are more flexible now as you can refund from the escrow balance and you do not need to use a credit card to process refunds. If you don’t use escrow or there are no funds in escrow, you can continue to refund off of a credit card.
Are there any updates to reporting?
-
We’ve added a new Product Sales Summary report that provides summary-level information related to all sales related to your business. This report breaks down all products, and SKU’s within products, and provides you with the following information: number of the product/SKU sold (including events, add-ons, goods, memberships, etc.)
This is an excellent report to utilize if you are interested in seeing an easy-to-read breakdown of sales across all product types, and do not need detail-level information such as customer information. You can learn more on how to run a Product Sales Summary report here.
We’ve also updated the Transaction Report to now include the registrant’s name, in addition to the purchaser information.
