Placing a cap on either a product or SKU allows you to limit the number of sign-ups to a specified maximum capacity. CAPS can either be created on the product (i.e., Baseball Prospect Camp III), and/or they can be created on the SKUs (i.e., Overnight Registration Fee).
A sample scenario for this is to think about having a particular camp that can accept 250 campers maximum. Perhaps you also have space to house 40 campers. In this scenario, you would place an overall cap of 250 on the product, and then create an SKU with a cap of 100 labeled “Overnight Registration". This permits up to 250 people to sign up for your event, however, only 100 people will be permitted to sign up for overnight option.
